Hopefully, you have all gotten a chance to see just how much fun Wilderness Escape was for the over 200 children that participated in our Vacation Bible School this summer. Their pictures have graced both our bulletin and our website (https://legacysite.sjecc.org). Perhaps the greatest joy for me was seeing the families together at our VBS Dinner. With over 425 people in attendance, the families were able to see the crafts and God Sightings from the week and got to eat a wonderful meal from Frisco’s. Not only did we fill the ballroom completely to capacity, we also gathered tables full of food and supplies for our Homeless Feeding Mission, for Saint John to prepare and deliver food to the Homeless here in Collier and Lee County, only miles from the church. Please contact me if you are interested in joining our Homeless Feeding Mission. We will be having our kick-off meeting the last week of June.
Thank you to all the families that participated in VBS this year and we are looking forward to next year!
All the volunteers made this wonderful week possible, and I want to single out a few that went above and beyond to make it successful. Karen and Rick Beebe, along with Brian Youngs and Scott Schwarz, spent months planning and creating the décor. Jasmine Dina and Natalie Campbell ensured we had a smooth registration process. Jennifer Bublitz and her daughter, Maddie, took the pictures and put together the picture frames for all the tribes. Melissa O’Brien picked out and prepared the crafts for each day. Anna Braun and Anthony Dina brought Moses to life. Danielle Steward and her son, Kevin, took on Tribe Time. Jennifer Joseph for taking care of our Preschoolers. Lena Costain, Carol Hamilton, and Gina Manfredi ran around for 4 hours playing games. And Michelle Mattia and Tricia Schwarz brainstormed amazing snacks and ensuring 350 people were fed each day. You and all the volunteers are amazing!
