Our Catholic Youth Organization Soccer program, through the Optimist Soccer League of Naples, has once again provided tremendous gifts to the children of Immokalee. One of our Parish Families, the Tedrows, spearheads a support drive each season to ensure items in short supply reach those in need only 25 miles from where they are playing sports. The whole league comes together around the specifically requested items. This past time, the call went out for books and toys for the upcoming summer months. The players and their families came together with over 500 books and over 100 games to give the children activities and opportunities to read all summer long. Thank you to the Dina’s and Greening’s for leading this amazing soccer league, and a special thanks to the Tedrows for spending their entire Saturday at the fields collecting these gifts.
