As part of the new Catholic Adult Organization, we are proud to present our renewed monthly social and spiritual gathering for women, Faith and Wine. A group of diverse women – single and married, with and without children, working in and outside of the home, young and young at heart, all at different places along our faith journey – who seek fellowship with each other and a greater understanding of our Catholic faith in order to enrich our lives and help us cope with the ever-changing challenges presented by today’s society. This monthly program kicks off on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at 6:00 PM in Rome.
Former China correspondent Jennifer Lin dramatizes 150 years of her family history in,”Shanghai Faithful; Betrayal and Forgiveness in a Chinese Christian Family.” She will discuss her “obsession” with excavating her family’s history. A reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer for 31 years, Ms. Lin will describe why she wrote her memoir and how she used her skills as a journalist to uncover long lost stories and new information about the Lin clan. Spanning five generations, Shanghai Faithful presents both a poignant portrait of a family as well as a vivid history of Christianity in China, stretching from the 19th century mission outposts of South China to the cathedrals of war torn Shanghai and today’s thriving house churches at the heart of China’s unprecedented religious revival.
