After 17 Years, Scott Schlossberg Says Goodbye to Saint John

logoonlyDear friends of Saint John the Evangelist,

A couple of weeks ago our General Manager, Scott Schlossberg, came to share some good news and some bad news with me. The good news was that his wife Shelley has been given a wonderful opportunity with a new company. The bad news was that means that their family will need to relocate to Scottsdale, Arizona. Obviously, this came as a great shock to me, as I am sure it is to our entire parish family.

Scott is a gifted individual who has served Saint John the Evangelist parish for over 17 years. He has managed the parish well over this time and was instrumental in helping organizing the campaigns for the Claussen Center and the construction of St. Agnes. Over the past six years, he has assisted me in the financial management and regular operations of the parish. Scott has fully collaborated with the various committees and councils that help run our parish on a daily basis. He has overseen the recent improvements to the physical plant as well as many community fundraisers and events, notably the St. Patrick’s Day celebration, the Parish Picnic, the Reverse Raffle, and the Super Bowl party. With his column in the bulletin every week, Scott has kept you informed about the life and the finances of the parish. Needless to say, his gifts and talents have been very much appreciated and will be missed. On a personal note, I will certainly miss working with him.

So where do we go from here? I have asked Scott to assist with this transition. Both Scott and his wife Shelley have agreed that he would stay with us through October to help educate and offer insights to the person who will replace him. I am happy to announce that Jean-Paul Boucher, the Director of Family Mission, will replace Scott as the General Manager. Jean-Paul will continue to direct the Family Mission as well as oversee the operations and management of the parish. The parish will be conducting a search for a bookkeeper to take care of the parish finances and payroll.

It is never easy to say goodbye to people who have served you well. Let us pray for Scott and his family as they move to Scottsdale, Arizona, and let us send our warm wishes for their future.

Sincerely in Christ,

FrJohnBlackSig-trans

Fr. John
