Thank you everyone for such a celebratory recognition of my 25 years of ordained ministry. I would have let the whole thing pass quietly without the insistence of the parish staff, whom I respect so much and whose dedication to excellence exceeds my own. That said, we had a great time.
The sun came up, the skies cleared and the temperature cooled for the beauty of the Holy Mass and the spirited reception. Thank you for the kind hospitality given to my parents and family, and for the generosity of your words spoken to me.
I believe we can all thank God for the people, the animals and the works of creation that God has given us, to show us the heart of the Son and the life of the Spirit. May the undivided unity of the Trinity embrace you.
