What matters in the art of journeying isn’t not falling but not staying down. Get up right away and continue going forward. This is what’s beautiful: This is working every day, this is journeying as humans. But also, it’s bad walking alone: It’s bad and boring. Walking in community, with friends, with those who love us, that helps us. – Pope Francis
Can you believe that I was told not to expect a large response when it came to our online survey’s connection to the Experienced members of our Parish Family? I am so glad that you have proven them wrong with an extraordinary level of response, well over double the other age group’s total. Additionally, the Experienced among us also were clear in their priorities, with some significant majority answers that illustrate exactly what they would like in persistent programs from Saint John the Evangelist:
We have been blessed last year to start our Adult Faith Formation program in earnest last year, and these results clearly show that these classes are part of your needs. We will be instituting further lifestyle and social discussions, along with our concert series, which will include music from all styles and types, this Fall and Winter. Along with the fitness and walking club plans, we will have yoga-like stretching classes on a weekly basis as well.
While the money has been pledged in our Build Our Future, Serve Our Past capital campaign to build our Life Center and some of our other urgent needs, we still need our entire Parish Family to give in order to reach our additional goals, including the detailed execution of the above programs. If you have any questions, please contact Joe Lichwalla, the Campaign Coordinator at 239-495-2001 or email: [email protected].
