Journeying is an art because if we’re always in a hurry, we get tired and don’t arrive at our journey’s goal.  If we stop, we don’t go forward and we also miss the goal. – Pope Francis

At some point in our spirituality, we may all be tempted to say “I have arrived” or “I am content to be here”.  That is not the point of the Catholic faith or our life.  Those are journeys we are all on together.  Pope Francis spoke above about the need for our faith journey to continue throughout out life and not stop just because we are Confirmed.  We are blessed here at St. John with such an active community of adults that understand that exact point.  We are pleased that we will be assisting our Parish Family and community, no matter what their age or stage of their journey.  This week, we will focus on the Adult community, who gave us some clear priorities when it comes to the programs they would like this church to provide:

Saint John the Evangelist is committed to develop opportunities to discuss all the various topics that impact our lives, both spiritual and temporal.  It is important to have dinners for couples to talk about their relationships and how to parent effectively in such a technologically focused age along with other discussions about the Bible and our Catholic beliefs.  The social aspect of these programs is prevalent in this age group in particular, including Seminars, Bootcamps for physical fitness, and Concerts.  All of these activities are group activities and we will ensure they are prioritized this coming Fall and Winter.

While the money has been pledged in our Build Our Future, Serve Our Past capital campaign to build our Life Center and some of our other urgent needs, we still need our entire Parish Family to give in order to reach our additional goals, including the detailed execution of the above programs.
