Finish the Church Campaign Reaches the Under $1 Million Milestone!

The support of our Parish Family has been truly overwhelming when it comes to Finish the Church, our Campaign to complete the financial obligation needed to repair and renew our Church Building.  It is truly a faith-affirming and enlivening space which receives positive feedback on a daily basis, even from those that are seeing it remotely online.  It is hard to believe that is has been nearly three years since Hurricane Irma hit our campus, tearing it apart.  In that short time, we have rebuilt nearly every square inch of Saint John, infusing our faith and our mission into the fabric of our facilities.

In order to accomplish this feat, the leadership of our Parish Family took on the responsibility to fund this expanded work through a Diocesan loan to make up the difference between our insurance funds and our initial Capital Campaign to Build Our Future, Serve Our Past.  Since that time, we have asked our Parish Family to prayerfully consider assisting us with paying off that loan as quickly as possible, so the $13,000 a month payment would not impact our missionary efforts.  Father Tom even made a specific plea that if you have the means, to provide $456, the amount needed from each of our families in order to complete this loan.  Some have responded with payments for families that cannot afford this consideration, even more have given generously and have secured memorials for their families in front of our church with pavers.  Thank you all for your continued generosity.

It is with great excitement that we are able to celebrate the payments we have made to the loan account this August have already taken our loan down below $1 million!  The current balance (before the September interest accrual) is now: $989,240.01.  With your continued prayers and generosity, we will continue to Finish the Church and ensure the future of our Parish Family for generations to come!  Thank you so very much!
