Saying Good-Bye to Father Jim: A Man that Lives the Joy of the Gospel

Fr JimIt is my sad duty to inform you all that Father Jim Simko, our Associate priest of three years, will be leaving us in July. We have all become enlivened in our faith by his wit, his infectious laugh, and his “homework”. He has tended to our Parish Family in so many ways, from the quiet moments with grieving families, to his powerful homilies that help us see the Gospel in a new light, to his raucous engagement with 500 youth and families at VBS and Families in Christ. He always has a smile and word of advice to help those around him. We will miss how our hallways and church rang with his laughter, and our campus will feel a little empty without its echo. His presence is needed at another Parish and so we can all take comfort in the fact that he has served us so well that his pastoral care is coveted elsewhere.

Additional details will be coming soon on a reception to be held at St. John before he leaves, so please look for that information in the upcoming bulletin and email. We will have a new priest assigned to our Parish Family and those details will also be forthcoming soon. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support of Saint John the Evangelist and our Mission, To Know, To Love, and To Serve God in His Church and Our Community.
