It is amazing that we have had over 1300 responses to our New Programs survey. We are blessed to have such an active and engaged Parish Family, and we are gearing up to provide these new and renewed efforts for ourselves and the larger community. I will be presenting the feedback from the survey over the next few weeks here, but before we delve into our needs, I have a request for you.
The building on our campus that gets used the most after our church, of course, is our Parish Life Center, or PLC. This large building currently houses ten classrooms, meeting rooms, a nursery, offices, our front desk for the parish, and the Ballroom. The PLC is utilized 7 days a week, 365 days a year for every type of program from our Faith Formation and After School programs, to Big Band Dances, to AA Meetings and Bible Study groups. It has lived up to its name as a Life Center. However, our new Life Center is breaking ground this year, and we do not want to cause any confusion with two separate buildings including the same name. We have decided to change the name of the current Parish Life Center and we need your help in choosing a new one. This name must speak to the enlivening and engaging nature of Saint John the Evangelist, as well as to the diverse set of activities that will continue for years to come within its walls. Some options we have thought about include:
- Parish Family Center
- Parish Union Center
- Parish Community Center

This is also a unique opportunity for someone to put their own name on the building, as part of the Capital Campaign. If you are interested, your family name could be added to this active facility for $1 million. This will ensure the full and complete renovation of the current Parish Life Center and bring its capability up to the level of our new Life Center.
While the money has been pledged in our Build Our Future, Serve Our Past capital campaign to build our Life Center and some of our other urgent needs, we still need our entire Parish Family to give in order to reach our additional goals, including the detailed execution of the above programs.
