Please join Bishop Dewane and Father John this coming Tuesday, April 10, for our 9:00 AM Mass for Healing for those impacted by Abuse. The creation and protection of the Safe Environment of Saint John the Evangelist and our Catholic Church around the world is a primary importance for all members of our Parish Family. There are many that have been impacted by abuse in their lives, both directly and loved ones that have been abused. The Diocese of Erie has recently modified their Safe Environment to communicate the names of both clergy and laity that have been credibly accused of abuse, clearly illustrating that maintaining the protection of youth and adults requires constant vigilance, and it is not relegated to a “collar” problem. We will continue to have no loop holes here at Saint John, with Background Checks and Safe Environment Training required for all active ministers, as well as the staff and clergy.
