Fruits Already Blossoming from Our Campaign: Get on the Bus!

I prefer a church which is bruised, hurting and dirty because it has been out on the streets, rather than a church which is unhealthy from being confined and from clinging to its own security. – Pope Francis

IMG_0896How can we get people of all ages to our church and to our Life Center?  How can we ensure we can take our church out and into the streets to proclaim the joy, love and mercy of the Catholic Faith?  With a bus, of course!  It is a priority of our Capital Campaign, and as Pope Francis stated above, for our entire faith, to be outward-bound and action oriented.  We are ensuring we can do exactly that with two new buses for our Parish Family.  The first one arrived this week and was immediately put to work picking up children for our brand-new CYO afterschool program, Full STEAM Ahead.  We are now bringing dozens of children to a safe, engaging environment that teaches them hands-on science, technology, arts and music on a daily basis.  We will have both buses (the next one is being outfitted with a wheelchair lift so we ensure anyone with special needs can be included) that will be used to take children, youth, adults, and experienced members of our Parish Family out on excursions as well as assist in getting them here to our campus.  I hope you catch the Eagle (and our CYO Logo) around town!

While the money has been pledged in our Build Our Future, Serve Our Past capital campaign to build our Life Center and some of our other urgent needs, we still need our entire Parish Family to give in order to reach our additional goals, including the detailed execution of the above programs.
