Fiscal Year Begins New Processes and Transparency Programs for Saint John Finances

Over the past several years, the financial team of Saint John has worked hard on improving both our fiscal management and our transparency. With a budgetary process that is only going into its third year, we have made tremendous progress in planning and executing appropriate and efficient stewardship for our Parish, balancing the mission of the church with our needs and operations. Last year, for the first time, Saint John convened a Capital Planning sub-committee, made up of representatives from our Stewardship, Finance, and Building & Grounds Councils. A report will be provided to the Parish Family on our Capital Improvement Projects approved for this coming year, which will now be tracked separately from our operational budget.

Additionally, we have transformed our bookkeeping to be in line with the structure of Saint John, with Pastoral, Liturgical, Operations, Religious Education, and Family Mission areas. Each area will be responsible for their budget and spending, ensuring focus and efficiency with the money you have entrusted us with. If you have any questions at all about these efforts, please do not hesitate to contact General Manager, Jean-Paul Boucher at [email protected].
