Thankfulness: Our Parish Family

Yet if there is one thing typical of the saints, it is that they are genuinely happy. They found the secret of authentic happiness, which lies deep within the soul and has its source in the love of God. That is why we call the saints blessed. – Pope Francis

thanksannThe outpouring of generosity and service from our Parish Family always astounds me.  Just when you might think we have given all we can of our time, our talent, and our treasure, Saint John the Evangelist comes through even more to assist those most in need.  This past week illustrated our commitment to our Mission with the Saint Vincent DePaul food pantry programs, Thanksgiving in the Park led by the Knights of Columbus and our entire parish, the Ladies of Charity providing meals to families in Immokalee and Naples Park, and countless individuals and families pitching in to make this season welcoming, loving, and fruitful for as many people as possible.

I want to take this moment in time to thank you all for your stewardship, your joyous faithfulness, and your constant support and encouragement for our initiatives here at our small corner of the world, St. John.  Saint Theresa said, “In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.” You all have shown that together we can do wonderful things with so much love that they can become great.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

While the money has been pledged in our Build Our Future, Serve Our Past capital campaign to build our Life Center and some of our other urgent needs, we still need our entire Parish Family to give in order to reach our additional goals, including the detailed execution of the renovations and programs for our community. If you have any questions, please contact Joe Lichwalla, the Campaign Coordinator at 239-495-2001 or email: [email protected].
