One of the recent changes you may have seen in the church is the removal of some hand sanitizers that were placed near the altar several years ago. I am a huge proponent of public health programs and ensuring the safety of all parishioners at Saint John. These hand sanitizers were not being used properly, however, since they were loud and slow. The wonderful leadership team of the Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, including Nace Baier, Mary Ellen Metro, Lisa Godlasky, and Eileen Cinque, came up with a much better solution to ensure a germ-free distribution of the blessed body and blood, hand wipes.
