When I was thinking about how to express my gratitude to our Parish Family and friends for the support, encouragement, laughs, and joy that we have shared with each other this past year, it struck me like a thunderbolt. Words are not enough. We have collaborated this year in expanding our Mission: To Know, To Love, and To Serve God in His Church and Our Community to nearly every corner of Southwest Florida, from Immokalee to the Beach, from Venice to Golden Gate. And even here on our campus, thank you for continuing to celebrate with us both in the Ballroom and the Pulte Family Life Center. The gifts of time, talent, and treasure that continue to be the hallmark of our Parish Family, even in the challenging times we have faced together this year, are immense. So, as an early Christmas Present, I wanted help show you the the gift our Parish Family is giving to ourselves and to the community: our new church!
The roof is nearly complete! With three inches of insulation and lightning protection, we have made our church safer and more energy efficient. We are now only waiting on the new bell tower that will sit on the top of the church, helping our bells ring out for the entire area.
The interior of the church, damaged by Hurricane Irma, is being completely remodeled. The new sound system and organ will ensure every seat in our new pew layout will be “the best in the house”. By integrating the hearing loop into the entire floor and special wheelchair access pews in 10 locations around the Sanctuary, every person, no matter their special needs, can be supported in their faith journey as part of our Parish Family. The spectacular Italian Marble Altar, new statues and crucifix (our old one now hangs in the Pulte Family Life Center), and Liturgical environment will provide a visual experience second only to the Mass itself.
There is so much more to discuss when it comes to our new church, so please stay tuned for more. A Very Merry and Blessed Christmas to each and every one of you!
