Please make sure to mark your calendars for our upcoming Parish Mission Retreat on February 19 – 21, with guest priest Father Donald Doll, SJ. Fr. Doll comes to us from Creighton University, where, as a journalism professor, he fell in love with the art of photography. His work has been featured in National Geographic and the “Day in the Life” books, and he has dedicated his life to illustrating the plight of migrants and refugees. His powerful mission will be a 3-day walk through of being “On Assignment”, his accompaniment of those in desperate need around the world. You will not want to miss this opportunity to see his pictures and hear his stories. We will have sessions both in the morning at 10 AM and the same session again at 6 PM each day so please find the time that fits your schedule.
We are blessed to have 42 of Father Doll’s amazing photographs on campus. This exhibit has travelled the world and now will be here at Saint John for the Lenten Season. We will have cyclical receptions and walking art exhibits over the next 5 weeks in Rome and around our campus. The first exhibit will be in Rome on Saturday, February 17, after the 5 PM Mass with Father Doll leading a group through his chosen images. More opportunities will be available, so stay tuned to the bulletin and website.
