It fills me with joy to say that our first ever Feeding Hunger, Filling Hearts event for Ash Wednesday raised over a record-breaking $12,000 for the Immokalee-based Guadalupe Social Services. That number will be even higher based on the support from groups like Pelican Sound, the Ladies of Charity, and the Knights of Columbus. From the impassioned music to the donation of various soups from restaurants in the area (shout out to Steamers for a delicious Clam Chowder!), the event could not have gone better as first step for our Immokalee Mission Team, which brings together the various groups in the parish to support the area and people of Immokalee.
