The Continued Growth of the Order Depends on Active, Strong Chapters
This weekend, Knights from the St. John the Evangelist Council 11281 are at each of the masses to extend a special invitation to all men of our parish to consider Becoming Knights.
The Knights are looking for men who want to support their parish and give back to their community in any of a myriad of ways. As taught in our principle of unity, we can accomplish more together. Brothers join together to help one another become better Catholics, better husbands, better fathers, and better citizens. The work of the Knights combines community service, social activities, charitable fundraising, and support for the Catholic Church.
At St. John, members serve as volunteers in parish ministries, help with special projects, and sponsor parish events. They are most visible in annual parish events such as the Lenten fish bakes, Valentine and vocations dinner dances, Tootsie Roll drive for the disabled, and Christmas time collections of gifts and toys.
Brothers support our liturgies as greeters and ushers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, and at special times with the Color Corps. And behind the scenes they support our priests and seminarians, fund multiple parish equipment and events, assist in activities and events for youth and young adults, and help the less fortunate with time and treasure.
Take a NEW look at the Knights; become active even if the time you have to give is limited.
Ask a Knight about becoming a Knight.
