Have you heard of the Immokalee Soccer School? As a new member of our Immokalee Missions Team, the Soccer School’s vision is to create a place in the world where boys and girls have the opportunity to participate and develop in their society. They will strive to find an important role in their community whether it be achievements at school in sports, or at work. Our Holy Father has already showcased how sports, and soccer in particular, are catalysts for peace (https://legacysite.sjecc.org/familymission/football-or-soccer-how-sports-can-showcase-the-best-of-humanity). Along with our own Dads Rule! program starting this month (see page X for details) and our connection with other local soccer programs, we will also be supporting this organization, which is entirely volunteer run. If you have some talent that you would be willing to donate, the Immokalee Soccer School, truly needs the following volunteer expertise:
- Grant Writing
- Bookkeeping
- Fundraising
- Coaching / Mentoring
- Vehicle Purchase (40 players require travel support for getting to the program)
