Feeding Hunger, Filling Hearts at Ash Wednesday

feeding-hunger-logo-colorDo you know that several years ago, Catholic Charities, the national and local organization in devotion and adherence to the teachings of Jesus and the Catholic Church, has taken over the Guadalupe Social Services, serving the people of Immokalee for over 35 years. Social Services provides a soup kitchen (Casa Maria), food pantry, clothing storeroom, shower services for homeless, immigration support, and other social services.

One of our new programs will showcase how we actively live our faith and our Holy Father’s call to support those that need us most. Saint John, along with the support of the Knights of Columbus, will be hosting an opportunity to directly give to Guadalupe Social Services: Feeding Hunger, Filling Hearts. During Ash Wednesday, in our Ballroom, individuals, couples, and families will have two opportunities to have a Lenten soup meal, learn more about GSS, and donate to such a worthy cause. Tickets can be purchased online at: https://stjohntheevangelist.weshareonline.org/FHFH2014. More information will be provided as we get closer, but reserve your bowl of soup now!
