Celebrate Advent and Christmas by Serving Others

How You Can Help Those In Need for Christmas Here at Saint John

Our Parish Family has always been so generous, especially at Christmas. From the Ladies of Charity Shoe Drives and Bike Donations to the Christmas Parties for those with special needs and toys for tots. This year has been an incredibly challenging time for all of us. We continue to experience an increase in needs for the families close to our church, as well as the larger community. We are called by our faith to take action to help them. Saint John has been working with our Ministries to develop several options to serve the youth, the families, and the lonely during this Advent Season:

  • 2020 Ladies of Charity Children’s Christmas Gift Drive: In past years, Ladies of Charity held an annual Christmas Sneaker Drive. This year, in light of the pandemic, the Ladies of Charity will be accepting monetary donations for a Children’s Christmas Gift Drive. All contributions donated to the Ladies of Charity will be used to provide Christmas gifts to children served by these three vital and approved social services programs within our community: Guadalupe Social Services in Immokalee, Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) Immokalee Community School, and needy children at Naples Park Elementary School.  Access to the online donation capability here. You can also give via check or cash by making it out to the Ladies of Charity, with the memo line: 2020 Children’s Christmas Gift Drive, and placing your gift in the Offertory Basket when leaving church or mailing/dropping it off at our Front Office.
  • 2020 Knights of Columbus Toy Drive: On December 12 and 13, 2020, the Knights of Columbus Council 11281 from Saint John is asking for our Parish Family to bring a new, unwrapped toy to church and drop it in our socially distanced toy gift boxes that will be in the Narthex of the church and at the entrance to the Ballroom. Our Knights will collect these toys and provide them to the North Naples Fire Department as part of their Angela’s Angels program, which serves underprivileged and at-risk youth in Naples. This tangible gift giving at the church is a wonderful way to show how much you care. Gift ideas and more details will be coming soon.

We pray that as a Parish Family, we can continue our traditions of generosity of spirit during these challenging times. So many rely on us for support when they are in trouble, and we have never let them down.

God Bless You and All You Love this Christmas Season!
