CAO Leadership and New Program Kicks Off with Saturday Night Fever

When we were developing the Catholic Youth Organization plans and priorities, it became clear that we needed the exact same types of programs for everyone over the age of 18 as well.  One of our parish leaders coined the term “Catholic Adult Organization”, or CAO.  It is the corollary to CYO, with the same persistent programs of sports and wellness, social and spiritual, and arts and music programs that reach every age group.  Interestingly enough, a Google search on Catholic Adult Organization right now only lists St. John’s website as the only church that has this type of program (https://legacysite.sjecc.org/ministries/transformation-of-fellowship-catholic-adult-organization).

Our CAO Leadership Team was supposed to meet this week to define the specific priorities for CAO, as well as the highlighted set of events and activities that will be accomplished by and for our Parish Family.  These leaders put aside their specific ministry foci and instead worked together as a single “We Are Saint John” team to identify these programs.  With everything from Big Band Dances to Bocce, concerts to pick-up basketball games, art appreciation to Alpha, there was something for everyone.  Our first major event will be a brand new focus for St. John, a Disco Dance.  Saturday Night Fever will be a discotheque dance party straight out of the 70’s, with a Bee Gees Cover Band, mirror ball, and even a VIP Longue serving fondue and Sweedish Meatballs.  Get dressed up in your best leisure suit, bell bottoms, or jumpsuit and dance the night away.  Tickets will go fast, so get them on our ticketing website here.
