Encountering Christ: Responding to God’s Call to Holiness

Rev. James Spahn was born in 1964 in Denver, CO. He attended CSU in Ft. Collins with an interest in animal research and conservation. Later, after having felt called to the priesthood, he attended Conception Seminary in Missouri for his philosophical studies. The path to the priesthood continued with theological studies in Denver at St. Thomas Seminary. He completed his studies at the Pontifical Josephinum in Columbus, OH where he earned two masters degrees in theology — a Masters of Divinity degree and a Masters of Theology in Biblical Studies. He was ordained 15 years ago.

His first parish assignment was as parochial vicar at St. Thomas More Parish in Centennial, CO. As pastor, he served the parishes of Our Lady of the Valley in Windsor and St. Mary in Ault. He became pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary parish in Northglenn, CO in June, 2013.

Rev. James Spahn has a great love for children and has expressed a particular joy in visiting with the children after each Sunday Mass. His personal interests include: fly-fishing, hiking, mountain biking, golf and scuba diving.
