No matter your age or interest, St. John has a summer full of activities and programs that showcase our year-round community engagement. Here are few to put in your calendar:
- Adult Faith Formation – Joy of Love: Please read more about our book club series on Pope Francis’ Encyclical on Family, entitled The Joy of Love. This series will last most of the summer, with multiple times each week, so join in when and how you can
- Cub Scout Breakfast – May 22: Get a chance to be served by our Cub Scout Troop one last breakfast before school lets out after the morning Masses.
- Full STEAM Ahead Summer Camps, including Block Party on May 28: Our hit summer camps have returned for another year, including music, dance, science, robotics, Minecraft, and other activities all summer long. Come see what it is all about at the free Block Party on May 28.
- Vacation Bible School – June 13 – 17: With only a few spots left, our Vacation Bible School, Cave Quest, is going to be a treat for all, from the children to the adults helping out.
- KoC Fourth of July Celebration – June 25: Celebrate and honor our nation’s heroes and heroines at our annual Fourth of July Celebration. From this year’s Honor Flight member from our Parish Family, Frank Lagonigro, to a tribute to all those who gladly put their life on the line for our country every day, this is an event not to be missed.
- Life Line Health Screening – July 20: Make sure your body is as healthy as your soul at our semi-annual Life Line Health Screening program. More information will be in upcoming bulletins.
- CRS Helping Hands – August 4: All hands on deck! John will host an area Catholic Relief Services Helping Hands event the evening of August 4. This special program allows all ages to work together to build individual meals that will be shipped all over the world to feed those in desperate need, from Ecuador to Nepal, from Zimbabwe to the Ukraine, wherever food is needed, CRS helps to make sure there is a meal waiting. Let’s see how many meals we can make together and afterwards we can eat together as a Parish Family. More details will be coming soon.
- Doo Whop Night – August 11: White Castle Night returns with the musical stylings of Elvis to help shake, rattle, and roll all night long. Tickets and details will be coming soon!
