There are dozens of groups and ways the Parish Family of St. John can get involved in our Mission: To Know, To Love, and To Serve God. Ministries are active groups that dedicate themselves to these efforts in the name of St. John and the Catholic Church. As part of an on-going series, we want to spotlight some of these ministries for their efforts and to educate you all on what they are up to and how you could join them.
As many of you were able to see this past weekend, the Ladies of Charity embody everything our faith believes. Their mission statement says it all:
Recognizing that each life is a gift from God and that we are called by God to do His work on this earth, we gather together bonded by God’s love, to share His love and our own unique God-given talents to serve the poor; sick and marginalized of our community. Our service shall be limited only by the needs of the poor.
This amazing ecumenical and multi-parish group of women serve the local communities around St. John as well as those in need in Immokalee with food pantry support, Thanksgiving drives, Christmas presents, and tutoring services. Please consider joining them if you are looking for a tangible way to live our our mission #ToServe.
