Simple Ways to Give: Bequests

Let us treat others with the same passion and compassion with which we want to be treated. Let us seek for others the same possibilities which we seek for ourselves. Let us help others to grow, as we would like to be helped ourselves. – Pope Francis

With the generosity and engagement of our Parish Family, we are beginning to plan the groundbreaking for the Life Center and efforts for our Capital Campaign, Build Our Future, Serve Our Past.  Many understand the vision of our parish for the future engagement of the Catholics and Community here in Naples.  Others recognize the needs we have with our current programs and buildings.  Each comes to their own prayerful consideration and has made this campaign a wild success already.  There are some that are still determining ways to become involved.  We will showcase a few ways for those who are interested in participating.

A bequest is a legacy you are leaving behind after you pass on from this world.  It is an act of giving placed in a will or trust that provides from your estate to the church.  It is considered a pledge, and if you so choose to do so, please fill out the Pledge Card.  In fact, just this week, St. John received over $150,000 in a single donation to our Capital Campaign from a bequest.  Below is the official language you would need to put in your will or trust from the Diocese of Venice:

I bequeath the sum of $________ or ________% of the residue of my estate to Bishop Frank J. Dewane, Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Venice in Florida, whose principal office is located at 1000 Pinebrook Road, Venice FL 34285, for the benefit of the Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church Capital Campaign.

As we develop and start the programs associated with our Build Our Future, Serve Our Past campaign for all members of our Parish Family, like the Catholic Adult Organization and CYO, we need our entire Parish Family to give in order to reach our additional goals.  Please tear out of the bulletin and place in the offertory basket this week or one of the upcoming weeks once you have a chance to prayerfully reflect on your gift to the future of our Parish Family.  If you have any questions, please contact Joe Lichwalla, the Campaign Coordinator at 239-495-2001 or email: [email protected].
