Our Parish Family has spent the past several years developing and then executing a massive, $16.4 million renewal project for the campus of Saint John the Evangelist. This action was born of a vision to create a welcoming, safe, faith-enriching environment for all ages that focused on our Mission: To Know, To Love, and To Serve God in His Church and Our Community. We did not simply focus on the physical spaces in this effort, but also on the programmatic priorities of the church, ensuring missionary outreach and service were core to every activity we accomplish. Catholic Youth Organization and Catholic Adult Organization were born from this vision. Together, we have all made this vision a reality here, from our beautiful new church to the CYO Volleyball camps to the concerts that grace our new stage. Thank you for your time, your talent, and your treasure that has assured the future of Saint John.
The amazing results we are already seeing from this vision becoming reality are just the starting point. It is now an appropriate time to codify our Mission, our Vision, and our Values as a Parish Family. That way, we can have a specific strategic plan on how we want to achieve the future of our church together. We have begun the process of developing that Strategic Plan over the past month with an Executive Committee made up of a cross-section of our Parish Family. These diverse individuals bring their various perspectives to answer the questions “What do we want to be as a church?” and “How do we want to get there?”
Part of the Strategic Planning process is identifying our current Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. These are both internal and external focus points for us to understand how we can improve and what it will take to get us to where we want to be.
There are many more steps we will be embarking on together as a Parish Family.
