UPDATE: Last Call for Items is Wednesday Morning, June 10th.
The excitement is building for our Vacation Bible School, Everest, where we will be having the largest group of children ever at Saint John for this week-long fun activities to help them become closer to God. Even more importantly than all the fun games, crafts, experiments, and songs, the youth will learn about using our faith to help others, specifically the survivors of the Nepal earthquake disaster. Dressed in their emergency support mountain crew t-shirts, they will be making blankets that will be shipped with our equipment with the help of the Catholic Relief Services, to orphanages and makeshift camps in Nepal. We also need the rest of our Parish Family’s help. One activity we will have the children do is create “God Heals” First Aid Kits, which will be distributed at the camps. If you have the chance, could you please bring the following kit items:
- Band-Aids
- Adhesive Tape
- Sterile Gauze Pads
- Antiseptic Wipes
- Small Bottles of Shampoo
- Small Soap Bars
- Small Toothpastes
- Toothbrushes
We will be adding a rosary to each kit, so we can provide spiritual support as well as physical.
