As school begins here in Collier County this week, I wanted to showcase one of the changes we have made based on the Family Mission Feedback, specifically invigoration of the support for Middle School youth. I have a 7th grader myself and the feedback from our parish illustrated that the Middle School Youth Group was not reaching our children effectively in educating and enlivening their faith. In conjunction with the Faith Formation program, we have created a new and exciting format for Middle Schoolers. In an effort to reinforce the knowledge building for this age group and also provide discussion and fun activities, the program will be broken into time for learning and time for theme-based discussion topics. This will enable Middle Schoolers to take the basics of our faith and ask their questions of “how” and “why” we believe what we believe as Catholics.
